This is the Web Page for the Weston-under-Penyard Community Climate Change Group (WCCCG). The purpose of this website is mainly to hold detailed information for residents to browse once they see something of interest on our Facebook page.
It also shows links to other websites/articles – and we try to ensure that any links we show are to organisations that are trusted with their use of reputable scientific research.
We are not a pressure group and don’t seek to tell others what they should be doing. Our focus is on what we can do personally, and as a local community, to make a difference.
We are not going to attempt to debate the existence of human-induced Climate Change.
We accept that the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has assessed the science related to climate change and determined that “It has been clear for decades that the Earth’s climate is changing, and the role of human influence on the climate system is undisputed” 1 . The WCCCG is focused on what we need to do to reduce our impact on Climate Change and improve the habitat in the local area.
